4. Shiraz Rose, Australia £14.95

Dry but not too dry, a deep pink colour with floral aromas.

An excellent depth of flavour with hints of apple.

 

 

 

Italy White

 

5. Pinot Grigio, Italy £15.25

A classic Pinot Grigio, dry, fresh and fruity with a mineral

character that lingers on the palate.

 

6. Soave Classico DOC Vigneto Monte Tenda, Italy £16.50

Produced from a single vineyard and made from 100% Garganega

grapes. Dry and crisp with undertones of almonds.

 

7. Gavi di Commune di Gavi DOC, Italy £18.75

A lovely wine with pleasant mineral tones and a hint of spice,

an excellent crisp finish that lingers on the palate.

Wonderful with spicy food.

 

Italy Red

 

8. Cent’are Rosso, Nero d’Avola, Italy £14.75

A careful selection of Nero d’Avola grapes produce this exquisite wine.

Aged for 6 months in French barriques, followed by 6 months in bottle.

Refined and velvety.

 

9. Bricco Primitivo IGT Puglia, Italy £17.50

Deep red with an intensely spicy bouquet and ripe, juicy, plumy fruit flavours.

 

10. Montepulciano Avegiano d’Abruzzo DOC, Italy £17.50

Produced at the Riparosso vineyard, the wine is ruby red with

a robust structure and undertones of wild cherries.

 

11. Valpolicella Classico Superiore, Italy £17.50

Produced from a single vineyard in the heart of the ‘Classico’

Valpolicella area, aged for 18 months in oak then a further 6 months

in bottle. It is medium bodied, well balanced with good fruit content.

 

12. Chianti Riserva, Cantina Bonacchi, Italy £17.50

Made from 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo and Malvasia del

Chianti. Aged for a total of two years before release. Dry, velvety

with an intense bouquet and a long, lingering flavour.

13. Danzante Merlot IGT Sicilia, Luce della Vite, Italy £17.50

The wine unfolds in deep, velvety layers of plum, berry and blueberry with hints

of spice though to a long and balanced finish.

 

14. Dogojolo Carpineto – Toscana £19.95

One of the most innovative wines to be found, made from the Sangiovese

and Cabernet Sauvignon and then aged in small oak casks. The result

is a wine with a fruity, fragrant bouquet and a full, soft, fruity flavour

with notes of cherry and a hint of vanilla.

 

15. Sangiovese di Romagna Riserva, Italy £25.25

Produced from only the best clusters of grapes, this wine has an

intense aroma with a touch of violets followed by a full, rich flavour.

 

16. Barolo Riserva – Costa di Bussia, Italy £42.50

Matured for three years in cask to develop the characteristics of slightly

gamey spicy tones for which Barolo Riservas are famed. Ripe fruit a

good grip and lasting flavour.

 

17. Barolo, Cerequio, Michele Chiarlo, Italy £52.00

A single vineyard Barolo located on the most prestigious hillside between the villages of

La Morra and Barolo. A rich and aristocratic wine which is full and savoury with

a lingering aftertaste. Very fine.

 

18. Capitel Amorone, Monte Olmi, Tedeschi, Italy £75.00

Full-Bodied with peppery berry character, medium tannins and a fine and rich,

long lasting finish.
